Start with the intended use
Tell your supplier whether the turmeric is for grinding, blending, direct food use or further processing. This determines which physical and test parameters matter most.
Agree on measurable specifications
Ask for variety and origin, curcumin range, moisture, size or mesh, appearance, polishing preference and packaging. Define acceptable test methods where relevant.
Plan destination requirements
Discuss pesticide residues, aflatoxins, microbiology and other destination-specific requirements before agreeing on a shipment. Request representative samples and documentation where appropriate.
